Wings to FlyHe beats her down with every move, causing pain that he calls love. Trying to keep her in "her place". We all see the sadness in her face. He keeps his jealousy shining bright and never lets things get right She carries on as nothing is wrong trying hard to keep the family strong Each day with him destroying everything Even the the love they felt together. Does he not know that love grows better when it is not kept in a cage. He must think she will always be there Always bowing to his needs When all is said and done, love will die with hateful words said, that can never be returned. A flower blossoms with loving care And dies with neglect. Love needs to be nurtured with daily care To reap the rewards of a beautiful view. If only he knew what true love was about Then he would not have to fuss and shout But would know the ways to keep them safe and let his family grow with love and care. Don't wait til your family is gone Before you realize how precious it is. Keep them and love them Let them grow with love, not hate Be good to them before it is too late. Give them wings to fly and grow They will return to you, you know. Judy Lindsey August 1 ,2009 Vote for this poem |
