Prayer of a Plea

O Lord, I cry out unto You,
Come quickly to help me get through;
In prayer that I may pay the price,
As a living sacrifice.

Open Your ears as I cry out,
So what I say there is no doubt;
May all of my words come to grips,
As they are flowing from my lips.

Please keep me from being enticed,
So I may live my life like Christ;
Temptation hides behind each door,
To hook with a seductive lure.

One of them may play with my mind,
Acting as though thoughtful and kind;
Then once they have you in their lair,
They can capture you with their snare.

Let the wicked fall into their nets,
Since they have no guilt or regrets;
So I can remain in clean thought,
Through the price that Jesus had bought.

My prayer is against evil deeds,
Help me be like the One that bleeds;
So I am able to abide,
Purifying my heart inside.
