 Addicted to Love

Robert Palmer's song touches my heart deep,
I completely understand the compulsive heap.
I am not my own, wrapped in a pretty wrapper;
But you are all over my butt like a red snapper.

My will has been captured by your sensual ways;
My brain's logic is immersed in love's blinding haze.
I have allowed you to stun me and then tag my ear,
As your kisses hold me deep in your power's sphere.

This is not the first time, and it will not be my last;
You will suck the life from me like all the one's past.
‘Cause I don't even love myself, how could you begin;
But I'm addicted to love, I'll take it  again on the chin.

This passion play has ran too many times to count;
I'm just another gullible prey,  a trophy for your wall mount.
Unable to find my bearings within my own soul, I latch on;
I love myself only when you love me, until you're gone.

Then the same old scenario is played out within my heart;
I am depressed, looking for relief, back into the road I dart.
I will be a victim again, it won't even take much of a shove;
‘Cause we both know that I'm hopelessly addicted to love.
