Humble Pie
Take a bite, maybe and learn
Where buds will savor what sometimes burns
Humble pie, figure of speech
Where life begins to school and teach
Those who feel above the bar
Always correct but wrong by far
Need a slice of pie that tastes
Humble in nature placed on their plate
The arrogance that fuels reason
Plays a role beyond appeasing
Souls sincere, humble dear brother
Beat up by words, pride theirs one smothers
The little guy needs to address
These pompous fools upon that press
Pushing buttons, bringing their take
Fueled by ignorance all theirs at stake
Humble pie brings to its knees
Those failing that won't concede
Sometimes wrong they too will be
Eating this pie to help them see
Have a slice and be humble today
