GRANDDADS DAY OUT...

 Standing at the fountain, water spraying  on our hair
Charlie wanted to jump in!  at six you don't really have a care;
Bronte look skyward pointing way up high,
Said "who is that man on the "pillow" ,"looking over the Liverpool sky"

"Wellington"! I retorted ,as if she should  have known;
Forgetting she's only three and a half,
And not three quarters grown;

Walked along the cobbles, of William brown street.
Pointed at the sand stone buildings,
And said "look kids" CULTURE right beneath our feet"

 Before us lay  the Art gallery, the library and the museum;
I said to the kids "all the stuff in those buildings,
And you don't have to pay to see them";

 Yes its all very well said Charlie,
And it sounds like a really good deal,
But granddad me and Bronte are starving!
Any chance of a HAPPY MEAL???????

 We swiftly took in the gallery ,
Stayed mostly in the Kiddies pen;
Doing Brass rubbings, and finger puppets,
Then doing them again and again and again;

Museum was a total loss!
Because Bronte wanted a POO!
Missed half the show at the planetarium,
Should have taken them to the ZOO!!!!!!

But oh what a funny day we had
Quite surreal I have to say,
I have a hankering to see those painting
Maybe some other day………………
                          Dedicated to my Grandchildren...Charlie, Emily, bronte mae.
