When troubles bring me lower than a snake's belly
When life deals me a hand of cards that is smelly
Floating adrift in the water without a working rudder
The problems of this life tend to make me stutter
You are there
You are the sun breaking through on my cloudy day
Spreading out before me a feast of love, a true buffet
Caressing my hurting soul with your sweet, gentle touch
Realizing your importance; God, I need you so much
You are there
Your arms embrace me after I return from the front lines
Whenever I don't know who I am, your presence defines
Looking around this crowded room of strangers for your face
Seeing you smiling back at me, my heart does always race
You are there
I look across to the pillow laying beside me in this brass bed
The moonlight shining through the window shows me your head
I snuggle up close against your warmth, you moan softly in return
Wiggling closer, igniting my soul, you make my whole body burn
You are there
You are there, my friend, my soulmate, my love, and my life
You are there, always standing with me, my beautiful wife
