Look Beyond Yourself
A child today will seek someone
Maybe in you to share some fun
Where father his has gone away
Maybe to war, maybe to stay
A man in need that sleeps outdoors
In cardboard box lain on some floor
Making his home on City streets
Ignored by passerby that past them streaks
The elderly who live alone
In nursing home and not their own
Will wish someone would come to pay
A visit brief if just today
A patient waits as time all theirs
Alone is short in heart they bare
Disease, afraid where no one cares
To pray for them, towards ceiling stares
The young and old
The sick untold
Could use a friend someone to hear
A moment now and time they fear
Share Jesus who in you sees
The need to help, that we concede
As He did for more than one
Bringing His Gift to everyone
You are the light that needs to shine
To share His word and Him divine
For when we do we show the Savior
To those in need, His drink to savor
Look Beyond Yourself
