Indian summer

Stepped out in the sunshine
On this Indian summers day,
Temperature was comfortable
At my side, my aid did stay

Sun roof was open
On my eight year old car;
Sounding a bit chesty,
Glad we wasn't going far!

Strolled around the towns shops ,
It was a hot afternoon..
Started to get painful,
Had to sit pretty soon.

Her hair was swaying.........
As she turned smiled and mocked,
She said “ I wont be a minute”
Go sit underneath the clock”;

I parked myself so gingerly,
Just taking in the passers by;
From old men and women on electric scooters,
To babies in prams that cry.

Young men in brightly coloured tee shirts,
That didn't really fit,
Muscles bursting from every seam
Convinced that they are “IT”.

Teenage girls giggling.
With the “Amy Winehouse” look
Hair, three foot high!
Looking over cooked;

And you always see a family.
Mum and dad and child
Who carry so much weight
They cannot ever hide!

They seem to walk and stroll
As if there on board a ship
Swaying with each step
Eating every single  chip!

Just love this world of ours,
So diverse! I have to say.
That was my Indian summer;
Well, my Indian summer today;
