Queen Sabrina was fair of face, but often vain
always discontent thinking she could gain
by using her immense beauty to tantalize
and she hid well beneath her disguise.
She stood haughtily in front of the mirror
and very few people dared to get near her.
"How beautiful I am," she selfishly thought
and many men her hand, they sought.
Yet, something was missing deep inside
something quite foul her smile could not hide.
She always wanted the finer things
the mantle of mink and diamond rings.
Her castle was huge, of this she did brag
but her beauty belied the soul of a hag.
One day she decided she wanted to marry
she screened all the suitors, this left her wary.
A fair king from another country came
seeking Queen Sabrina, he wanted to proclaim
his desire to marry the much sought after queen
but he caught a glimpse of her soul quite unclean.
So the king left the castle never to return
and Sabrina she cried, for her cold heart did burn.
She mourned for the young king, whom she desired
but she lacked the very things the king required.
Though her face was fair, her heart was cold
at least that's the way the story was told.
Sabrina had forgotten that love is everything
and she lost her one love the handsome king.
Pretty is as pretty does
you can't deceive everyone because
your inner self comes shining through
and vanity will get the best of you.
Beauty on the outside
should never totally override
the workings of the heart
or your dreams will fall apart.
