~*~` THE OLD OAK TREE `~*~
~*~`THE OLD OAK TREE`~*~
~***~*~***~
In dreams I relive an old memory
Of a song you once sang to me,
I can still hear the sweet melody
You sang neath' the old oak tree.
~***~*~***~
You were set in all of your splendor
Professing the many powers of love,
Vowing words so sweet and tender
Angels rejoiced from heaven above.
~***~*~***~
A song etched deep within my heart
Brightens my days when I am blue,
Remembering a love from the start
That promised to be forever true.
~***~*~***~
Initials carved on the old oak tree
Encircled in a heart for all to see,
Will remain for the life of the tree
But our love will live unto eternity.
~***~*~***~
