Futility of Words

The futility of words when no one is listening
for all that they hear are their fears
dreaming and hoping that life treats them fairly
while war brings us all closer to tears…
then futility speaks and the whole world is listening
primitive thoughts always reign
power and strength always led by example
but leaving only distrust and pain.

We cry out our fears expecting others to follow
screaming, “why can you not feel my fear”?
paranoid thoughts that are so deeply embedded
pushed through your mind through the years…
then all you can see are the enemy getting closer
‘be sure to look under your bed'
for the bogey man has come to destroy all that you have
and chop off your empty air head!!!

This poem is for all those that see war as an answer to their own countries greed.
