Run Straight toward the Goal
Once things that held value,
Have no worth anymore;
So now I bid adieu,
Since Christ opened the door.
It is far more than this,
Since it does not hold worth;
Having no pleasant bliss,
For me on planet earth.
Much better knowing Christ,
And having Him as my Lord;
For Jesus has enticed,
To be in one accord.
It is because of Him,
I threw it all away;
No longer feeling grim,
Since not going astray.
For my faith keeps me straight,
Since I know Christ is there;
And waiting at the gate,
For to come and to share.
So I do not look back,
Rather lengthen my stride;
With Christ nothing I lack,
I preserve to abide.
