Looking in the Window
Peer into the soul
Through the window
And in some places
You find enlightened
Houses,
Filled with light
And brilliance
To give hope
Back to the world.
In another
You find the
Pain has made
The window
Dull
With apathy
There is barely
Enough energy
For the inside
To shine anything
Back into
The world.
How often
Do we even
Take the time
to look
into each other's
Eyes?
I mean
Really
Look…
And SEE
What's there?
Some of us
Hide our windows
Pull down the shades,
Look away
Pray that no one
Sees what we
Are afraid
They will find.
US.
We fear Judgment
And rejection
More than
Death.
So look around
Right now
Go on!
Do you want to be
Seen
Do you want to
Hide
Or do you want
To give
Love, hope,
Connection,
& sincerity?
