What Price Happiness? Oh Dear...Comments?For the very first time ever, I have received a 'bad' feedback. This poem was written many years ago-by me! But I'm told it was written by another Author a long time ago... Not sure of the implication of that? But that's fine. Everyone has their view on things. The persons view on this poem is fine. It was also pointed out that money isn't the root of all evil- Greed of money is the root of all evil. Now then isn't that just about the same thing? Money = greed Greed = money Greed & Money = Evil ...Yep... Money = Greed = Bad things happen! I was also told it tells us this is in the Bible. I 'know' what's in the Bible hun- I read it every day. You sound unhappy. For that, I am sad. Blessings on you. They say money can't buy happiness, And yes, I agree its true, No matter the trials we face, This surely shows on through. For no matter the trials we face, And no matter the pain in our life, Money can't ease it, not affairs of the heart, It can never ease the pain or strife. Life has its ups and downs, This we know is correct, Nothing in life is easy, And everything is circumspect. Money's the root of all evil, Though ‘sometimes' it eases the strain… That causes hunger and poverty, So this is the only reason we gain… We gain the help that it brings, Eases the struggle of some, This is the only way it really does help, When all is said and done… But still money isn't all it's said to be… Sometimes it causes hurt and pain, So you see, no matter certain problems, Money just doesn't bring about gain. Affairs of the heart are plenty, For some more than others I'd say, And money can't ease it, no matter what, At the end of the day…! We all have sadness and sorrow, And yes, we have hurt and pain, But dwelling on that wont help, For there is nothing to gain! So we must face it head on, Bring happiness into our life, For only then you will find… You will lose the sadness and strife. So chin up head high don't falter, And march through all the pain, And before you know it, there it is… You are happy once again. Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem |
