Old Flames Rekindled

letting the past lay dormant to rest and heal wondering if the time is ripe
to renew the good leave the bad in the past understanding where they are from
knowing the memories have always been there even when they shouldnt have been
is it possible for an old flame to be rekindled could there be a spark in the ashes after all

years have past since we talked always civil just not ready yet could now be the time
always concerned for each others well being never jealous  never really bitter only hurt
listening to our spoken and unspoken words  concerned about each others feelings
is it possible for an old flame to be rekindled could there be a spark in the ashes after all

we were young  tempers always seemed to flare but age has tempered  us
where we had no patience now seems to be willing to understand where once we didnt
two children we had our only contact was for them but now it seems to go beyond them
is it  possible for an old flame to be rekindled could there be a spark in the ashes after all

our wounds have been healed we know our way and we arent jealous of each other anymore
is it possible to make a go of it what youth almost destroyed can we put the pieces back together
are we so different now that chances arent feasible or are we ready for what was always meant to be
is it possible for an old flame to be rekindled could there be a spark in the ashes after all
