 The Thoughts Of  One
In short my role would dim with time
Where one would take what I'd call mine
A love forever, true love back then
With you we loved, soul mate and friend

The very thought that this could happen
Between us both has others laughing
At one who thought they had it all
The jokes now out on us it called

Trust would die but my heart still lives
Mistakes all make, some will forgive
For when our heart does speak your name
It still holds true and shares the blame

The hours worked and took for granted
Obscured the need where once we planted
A ring in hand that meant something
Back then today now means nothing

They would come to fill the void
Losing our touch our hands destroyed
What once was right now all gone wrong
The question now for how and long

You sat throughout the many nights
Waiting alone by candlelight
Dinner was served so undeserved
As we were lost today now served

A helping is our need my dear
The years flew by and now we fear
The thoughts of one do not make two
Two hearts once one now broken too

This song came to mind today
Back then once heard today now plays
Inside a head that lost it's mind
Shattered is life, today my time
