I wish that I wanted you more than I do,

I wish that my love for you I could renew,

But my fortunes have changed, read the property news,

Heart to let has gone up, someone's taken your room.

I wish that I needed you more than I do,

I wish there were reasons for me to trust you,

But my soul hollers 'No, I should rule out the past,'

Heart to let has gone up, someone's here with their bags.

I wish that I cared for you more than I do,

I wish we'd been better at honest and true,

But we can't waste our lives on what might have been,
