They fought the fight Irelands men and women
Killed by invaders they now rest in heaven
I remember the words "meet me at the pillar"
Padraig Pearse gave his call for help
Men and women with children of Ireland
Answered the call with Cumann Na MBan
Our heroes were taken to their death by the crown
A cross marks the spot where they were shot down
Ireland remembers our heroes of the past
Freedom for Ireland with feelings that last
