Shelter In place, only leave if you must, store
Shelves nearly empty, prices soaring up
Hoarding bathroom tissue has become a must
You must wear a mask if you have to venture
Out, wash your hands, hand cleanser's a must
Clean everything that anyones touched
Only essential workers, allowed to work
Close the restaurants, close the schools
Close the hairdressers, that's the rule
No baseball, no basketball, beaches closed
Too, no theme parks, no picnics or weddings
Allowed, no more than ten people in any crowd
The death toll of Covid given three times each
Day, hospitals overflowing, the staff overwhelmed
Medical ships sent to the east and west
No visitors for dying family, they must now die
Alone, could we not have suited up in protective
Gear, to wipe away our dying one's tears
No funerals are now being allowed, we can
No longer gather to morn our lost or comfort
A loved one, who's suffered great loss
Only ten allowed, in our houses of worship, our choirs
Silenced now too, have we become a nation of fools?
Our lives effectively canceled, with all these rules.
