In Memoriam
I was stricken
The news of her death
It was so shocking
It pulled me down
Her eyes used to spark with elegance
Her voice was soft
She was warm-hearted
She lived in her own creative world.
Certainly I am not the first-
There were times when
It was beyond my imagination.
So many would seek fortune from her
I like to think of that moment
I have remained in this part of the world
For good thirty years.
My achievement is very ordinary
She was generous
She never ignored me
She took great care
She was like a firewall for me
Each person I have known
Each room I have slept
Each mile I have traveled
Her smile, her languid face
Her lively expression
Etched in my memory.
