"Still Here"
"Still Here"
Lost in a world far from you,
A place where angels dwell and
People build wishing wells.
Copper Pennies transform into
Miracles, as wishes and prayers
Around me are encircled.
Wounds in my mind seem
As endless as time. High
Above us, it's been quite a climb.
Wish I had courage to let You in.
show you all that pain
Secrets I hide, and those stains.
Some put there by men
Some put there though
My own shameful sins.
I ache for some sense of power
And control. That abuse won't
Ever touch again my soul.
Shattered spirits and shattered
Minds. I can write a book on
The lost girl in time.
Maybe someday I'll find a way
Back to you. Into to the Present.
Where Angels are heaven sent.
I'm sorry I've lied, I'm sorry I
Spent sooo much time in denial.
Couldn't face the truth mile after endless mile.
As polar opposites we are
One moment you're a shining star
While i'm frozen in time in a glacier
Far beneath the frozen ice.
Suspended in a breath of time.
If you are very quiet and listen deeply
You can still hear my heartbeat.
