Sorrow's Touch

I ride the waves underneath red moon
As other's sleep in their cocoons.
Awake by night I walk my sorrow out
It gives me its hand so I don't twist and shout.
I try to break free but it's got tight grip about me.
Won't let me laugh or play or with clear eyes see.
What to do I cut its line
A cut so freeing and so refined.
I set sorrow sailing to its grave
And count my years and solemn ways.
My jar of tears has long since filled
I dump them out into the oceans till.
No longer sorrowful I again ride the waves
Underneath red moon and watery graves.
