Sweet Surrender

They’ll be no more moments of sweet surrender
I have surrendered enough of my soul
I have given my all,the embers almost extinguished
I am no longer a man that is whole.
Having battled through misery, years of confusion
I began to believe I’d found me?
I could smile, be happy enjoy each day of living
Taking pleasure in each sunrise I’d see.
But I surrendered my soul knowing the darkness was present
Hoping my love would always be true…?
That the love that I showered would
Brighten the dark clouds…
Allowing the sun to shine through.
But life has proved that is not in my future
I am what life’s made me to be…
To live out this life surrounded by torment
Alone, but happy with me!
