Poetic-Verses

'' You Believe I've Been Snide ''

My lavish living,
Was paid for by you,
So please be forgiving,
In what next you do.

Though I'm a dictator,
I still have a heart,
To my people a traitor,
As now I depart.

Though you are dying,
Through lack of food,
There's no denying,
I have done good.

I have palaces galore,
I live in splendour,
But I still want more,
With you as my lender.

I am out of reach,
Of my own law,
Don't dare impeach,
You should be in awe.

Though I'm ninety-three,
I've been forced to retire,
Believe in me,
No, I'm not a liar.

Yes, Inflation is raging,
But I'm alright,
A bit like my ageing,
It's now out of sight.

Though I've stolen billions,
I prefer acquired,
You plebs, my civilians,
Now want me fired.

My life of devotion?
Has caused a divide,
I've now got the notion,

‘' You Believe I've Been Snide ‘'

Another corrupt politician? Walks away with their stolen millions intact?
