Taking The Edge Off
Summer's Edge
Written by someone who waits
all summer for fall to arrive.
From the sweltering haze
of those midsummer days,
seeking blissful escape in the shade,
to that fall-time affair
that brings chills to the air,
causing lingering heatwaves to fade.
There's a parting of ways
with those hot, humid days
'til such time as the summer rebounds.
That new time of the year
will be festively here
when to bask in the autumn surrounds!
