Mitchell 8th October 2020 """"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" When we enter the gates of the City of God - will we carry our sheaves In our hands ? - will our tears have wetted The hardened clods - to water the fallow ground ? Can we say to the Lord - that we did our best - for The good of our country and King ? - or - when Ordered to muzzle our vocal cords - did we Open our mouths wide - and sing ?
Did we carry our cross - as He Said we should - in honour of His Holy name ? - and did we say that we Were among the Redeemed - or Lower our eyes in shame ? Oh my friends - may we never forget The price - our Saviour paid - so that we Could be free - when He hung exposed - between Heaven and Hell - as He suffered for you and me - but Death could not hold Him captive - when He broke The chains of our sins - then opened the way Into Heaven's gates - to welcome His Children in . So - I'll sing of my wonderful Saviour - and I'll walk where the Faithful have trod - 'til - I enter His gates With thanksgiving - with my hand in The hand of my God .
