FOR DAD, AT ONE YEAR GONE By Kathryn Tate Jacoby, www.PoetryPoem.com/poetessktj Unlock all Features - Upgrade to Poetry Prime
You've been gone
nigh on a year
Life's been strange
since you're not here
We miss your wisdom
and your voice
You'd be here now if
we had the choice
But God decided
your time was done
You're with Him now
and with His Son
You feared you'd
have no legacy
Yet in each of us
you're plain to see
You left a mark
from whence you came
In all of us
you left your name
We send our love
and want you to know
how hard it was
to let you go
We miss you dad and
wish you'd stayed
but we all know
we'll meet one day
You're standing now
on heavenly shores
and in God's embrace
you are once more
