A youngster's observation
A youngster said to me one day in a conversation
My generation is somehow in a very tight situation
Those persons from that era known as the "baby boomer"
Because they had access to things more easier
Let us look at some of their level of qualification
Many of course left school with little of no certification
But still were able to find an be occupation
And will be there until retirement with a pension
Those too were fortunate to study for a degree
Were able to change jobs so very easily
Now today many of us have studied to the level of doctorate
And are still waiting, this did not change their state
Yes indeed there is expected growth in the population
And now many of us are graduates of a Tertiary institution
Even those who chose to study for a profession
Are now having some difficulty in gaining occupation
So the reality is we are now faced with such a debacle
Perhaps the system could be considered very brutal
And too many parents put that emphasis on education
Some too also believe there should be other provisions
My response to him I had always saw this predicament
And I always viewed with a bit of resentment
Because as the younger ones strive for higher erudition
Enough to employment is not there to absorb them
As you can see we are living in a season
Where almost everything has to bear the stamp of an institution
And also too they have to go through a process of accreditation
There is nothing wrong to be ready for the change in direction.
