The  Palm Cross.

On Saturday March twenty-fourth
Arthur said "tomorrow is Palm Sunday
Would you like to go to Church"
I said "if you don't mind me being away"

But on Sunday morning
He didn't want to be left alone
That I liked to get the Blessed palm
Was a tradition he would have known

Before you passed to eternity
On that morning at Memorial Hospital West
Your last words to me were
"Go home and get a good night's rest"

Each day since I lost you
Words can't describe the sadness
That I feel since March thirtieth
Our home now has an emptiness

The Lord called you from this earth
On Good Friday and Passover
Rest In Peace dear RT
Gone but in my heart forever

My friend Rosemary brought
Me to Church on Easter Sunday
When I exited her car - there
On the ground this palm-cross lay!
