Welcome to "Shadowbrook"

I'm just an average 60+ year old American, raised on a farm in Connecticut. Through the years as a student, U.S. Marine, husband, father and Grampa, I have learned many things but, faith, family, respect, the value of freedom and that the real wealth in life is children.  In today's world to many people have forgotten this, instead they seek the biggest bank account, best home and the newest things or they expect life to be easy and all their needs should be given to them

My poems are meant to get people thinking and having the conversations, which are necessary to reverse this trend.

A Tear is a drop of the pain we hold inside.

Spring flowers that open to greet the sun

Smell the fragrance of earth's impending rebirth

All life feels the sun and begins to feed,

children play in leaves as tree's shed them to renew

If love, hope, joy, children can survive. so can I

Spring is our time to set all things straight

Teach the joy in life to family shedding tears

It's why I put words together telling stories of life, faith and inspirations
