I was born right after the end of WW2, in a little town in Maine.. My childhood was one of fun, frolic, and innocence..I was one of the lucky ones!! After High School I attended The Northern Conservatory of Music in Bangor, Maine..my major was Voice...I have spent many years directing choruses and choirs. My husband and I have been married 47 years this August 22--have 4 children and 10 grandchildren... My poetry comes from every day joys and pains. We are not immune to adversity, it makes us stronger. My other work, which keeps me very busy is genealogy...in this great work, I have recently discovered that my ancestry crosses with the great "Henry Wardsworth Longfellow"..I come from one of the first families to arrive from County Kent, and settle in York, Maine..Abraham Preble and Judith Tilden..In studying this family, I have found that, not only was Longfellow a great family friend and classmate..His son Stephen married a Preble...Most of the family went to Bowdoin College and Harvard. I have always been inspired by his poetry and have visited his homestead on many occasions, not realizing the connection...how delightful is life!!!
