The Grand Old Duke Of York

I want to resign the letter said.
apparently he didn't mean it
in spite of all those good folk
who all swear they have seen it.
and now he's throwing hissies,
throwing verbiage at one and all
like the kid who in a pique
takes away his bat and ball
then gets upset because
in spite of what he's done
the other kids still merrily keep
playing on and having fun.
pissing in the wind we called it
In my old army days
pretty futile method of
trying to get your own way.
we are pretty certain
the poor guy is quite ill
and hope once again he soon
 starts back on his pills.
