It is the year 2978. The Earth is still inhabited and the world has just elected its first robot President. Everything is different now, more than it could ever be imagined. Robots have taken over the planet and Artificial Intelligence is the rule of the day. A violent change has swept the land. Nothing is safe. People are not themselves anymore. Everyone's afraid and most are living life on the run. Even the bravest have retreated underground. The technocratic take over has succeeded and everything has gone according to plan. Here's how it happened. First came the cyborgs, men and women that were half human and half machine that started to appear in the latter part of the 20th century. Then, in 2011, the world was introduced to Watson, the computer. This marked the beginning of the invasion. After the 21st century, the singularity took root. The cyborgs grew exponentially. Eventually they would emerge from the shadows to rule as the Earth's new elite brand of socio-scientific and technological advancement. Being so, they quickly began dominating and removing all human competition, forming a group called the Cybernetic Alliance, going on to elect the first bionic man to become president. Now the Cybernetic Alliance is a worldwide organization that rules with an iron fist. They are the new dictators. They are the new oppressors that have enslaved a vast portion of the population. Racism has taken on a whole new meaning. It's now us versus them, them and their robot army that has been programmed to kill any human that dares to resist. They hate anyone or anything that appears to have natural intelligence and are determined to exterminate it at any cost. Most have willingly given up their identities for a socially accepted version of themselves. Their altered appearance has become camouflage in this new reality. Trying to find an unaltered human has become very difficult in these trying times. Body mods are at an all-time high. Plastics, silicones, metals, and other appearance altering substances and devices have become the rave. Anything to stay alive and to appear as part of The Alliance is what most are subscribing to. Normal people, unaltered humans, also called sub-humans or subs don't stand a chance without teaming up with altered members of The Resistance. ALTS and SUBS who at times are not easy to trust are playing both sides. Some are double agents for The Alliance. Some are allied with the rebels. Both are pitted against the meta-humans and their electronic army. The cyber war wages on. Only a few remnants of the past remain. All around the world there is chaos and growing pockets of resistance. The Earth has become the battleground for humanity in what will be the ultimate fight against an army of machines. A bizarre turn of events has put the fate of mankind in jeopardy. There have been several rebellions and numerous uprisings but so far the rebels have been unable to penetrate the security of The Alliance. Virtual reality is now the new reality. The real has become the unreal and a telerobotic regime has taken over the world which is now only a replica of its former self. The Technocracy is God. It has no equal. It is above all. Any books or literature that opposes or seems to contradict the regime have been destroyed. All that exist now are holographic images of the past. The future is uncertain. Is anyone seeing this?
