We proclaim that God is light,
In Him no darkness at all;
For we know that He does right,
Willing to answer your call.
With Him, there’s no fellowship,
When we walk in the darkness;
No truth in us nor friendship,
All lies are full of starkness.
But if we walk in the light,
There’s fellowship with others;
No sin doing what is right,
As we help our brothers.
If we say we have no sin,
Then ourselves we deceive;
And the truth is not within,
Salvation we won’t receive.
If we confess our sins,
The Lord is faithful and just;
Having a new life begins,
And cleansing all of your lust.
If you say you have not sinned,
You have made Him a liar;
Not divinely disciplined,
Go to the lake of fire.
