Memories Path

I walked along memory's path one bright and sunny day,
Seldom knowing or caring when my steps began to stray.
Transported to another place by a photograph or two,
One memory blurring into another as my sense of nostalgia grew.

So many, many loved ones, gone from this life too soon.
But oh, blessed memories, what a sweet and wondous boon.
In my mind they yet live, I hear the sounds I crave.
My brother's laugh, my best friend's snide remarks...my father being brave.

There were good times aplenty, and harsh ones too...
Magically swift the memories and emotions flew.
I believe we will all meet again in some fabulous, distant land.
Until then, my heart may ache and my steps waver...but I will stand.
