COLLAGE DAZE

She was pretty perky and assured of herself
I was shy coy a very unsure boy
She was a Junior had life in her hands
I was Freshman, scared didn't have college plans
One day she passed said, "Hi Handsome!"
I looked to see if someone was following me
We held hands looked in each other eyes shared dreams
She could play me like a puppet I didn't care
When we were together all the other boys in envy did stare
Those were the good old College daze
This seems like a perfect love don't you think?
That's the way it is with those good old college days
By the end of fall quarter we had split our ways
This girls importance to a guy like me
She introduced me to my future bride to be
Now here was a perky girl who was assured
But there was always a difference she was not into herself
You see to her I was just a conquest on the shelf
Whatever happens to your first love fall off a cliff
I am not one of those guys who mopes for what might have been
I got the better of the two girls in the end
Remember your first love the old college daze?
