It Came To Pass

It came to pass one Christmas day
There were no children out to play
They had no presents; they had no trees
For Christmas never came you see

They banned it in all shopping malls
There were no signs taped to the walls
No Christmas cheer, the left had won
The Christmas story had come and gone

No giving to the poor in need
It all fell down from too much greed
There was no sound of Silent Night
It looks as if they won the fight

But in the homes the children prayed
For Christmas had not gone away
It's in their hearts, they still believe
That Jesus came to bring relief

It came upon a silent night
A star appeared and shone so bright
A little child is born today
The angels sang their songs of praise

So little children everywhere
Yes God is here and Jesus cares
He came to save both you and me
He came to set our lost souls free

So Christmas did not leave you see
Just fold your hands, get on your knees
Thank Father, Son and Holy Ghost
Go spread the news from coast to coast
