This poem was created and inspired by Sara Teasdale's beautiful and frightening poem "There Will Come Soft Rains"
There will come soft rains no one will hear.
All laughter gone, all dreams did disappear.
Silence across the mystic plains of eternity.
There will come soft rains no one will see.
Not one man, woman, or child to be found,
gentle rains renew the earth's fertile ground.
All that remains are the machines man built
those remnants of love, prosperity, and guilt.
There will come soft rains and warm sunlight
all hope escaped, all extinguished from sight.
No movement, no noises, no one remains
to mourn the passing of now empty plains.
