So deep the snow falls,
in silence does it lay its head to rest upon the coldest heart,
in mourning does it cover.
Slowly thickening, hardening into stone
shielding eternally.
Encased she lies in deepest ice, protected,
shrouded from watchful eyes.
Stark in contrast, the trampled darkness of footprints
engraved upon the surface of newly laid snow upon the ground.
Endlessly the feet pass above her leaving no clue to the traveler!
Always the footprints, dark shadows held within the purity of snow,
the owners none the wiser of she who lies below;
protected, shielded, encased within.
