Forbidden KissOur tender lips met for the first time tonight I was excited, for I saw the moment coming You were scared, nervous, and full of fright I felt everything, and I think you felt nothing You cannot begin to know how it is I really feel I dare not tell you, for in my heart I know it is wrong But when first eyes upon you I laid I knew right then my feelings were strong And yet we are stuck in a perpetual pondrance For I desire you and your heart We have great talks and speak of sacred things But these feelings I dare not impart Why did this have to happen to me Why did your essence make me desire you so Is it because like a child in a candy store I cannot have things that I want although To me I need to feel your touch, your tenderness Your warmth, your smell, the feel of your skin And yet I think that maybe you suspect something More inside like love's silly chagrin For now I will dream and remember this night And fantasize about our kiss And try to realize that it cannot be more For maybe in ignorance there is indeed bliss… By Sandy Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem |
