The Benefits of God
I wait patiently for the Lord,
Knowing I will not be ignored;
For I know that He heard my cry,
And soon I know He will reply.
For He knows it is not for greed,
Since I only ask when I need;
Ensuring just where I may stand,
Is nowhere near the sinking sand.
If I had fallen in a pit,
I know that the Lord would see fit;
Setting my feet on solid rock,
Steps secured where I had to walk.
He places a song onto my tongue,
Allowing praises to be flung;
Worshipping to the Lord my King,
With every breath that I sing.
Do not rely on a proud man,
For he has a fallible plan;
Nothing solid to build your trust,
Since his motive is filled with lust.
But the Lord is faithful and true,
And always willing to help you;
In performing miraculous things,
With peace and comfort that it brings.
