They held a policy survey
Over the telephone one night
With carefully worded questions
To ensure most answers were right
They processed each questionnaire
Carefully all through the next day
And any that didn't quite fit in
They deliberately threw away
And the resulting data showed
What they knew they'd find out
That no action was really needed
Beyond any reasonable doubt
So they went and did nothing
Secure in the careful way
That true to democracy they'd let
The people have their say
And deep in their hearts
They knew all was fine
And they all continued
With the Official Party line
And the piggies at the trough
Continued to drink their fill
Secure in the knowledge that
They carried the people's will
