I have no one to cherish
and
to hold inside my arms
And it's been mighty
lonesome not having anyone
Because I miss those feelings
When I can have someone
that I can hold gently
inside of these arms of mine
That can be my lover
and also my best friend
But can also be
just
as loving as I am
And I keep hoping
and praying
That the good Lord
will help me find
That one very
special person
Who wants and needs
all the same things
that I have been wanting
So that neither one of us
will ever have to spend
another moment feeling
lonesome and all alone
