Prisoner in the Word
I cannot let it be ignored,
As a prisoner in the Lord;
To encourage you as to live,
Knowing that you are a captive.
Even within the midst of strife,
You must still live the type of life;
In which God has called upon you,
How you should be living it through.
So be humble gentle and kind,
Remaining calm to ease your mind;
Be patient and loving each other,
Treating each one as your brother.
And through the peace that binds the ties,
Overpower deceit and lies;
Remembering the unity,
From the Spirit with dignity.
Everyone shares the same hope,
When at the end of our rope;
With one baptism in the Lord,
One faith while in one accord.
One God and Father of each one,
Through Jesus Christ who is the Son;
And looked upon us with favor,
Given the gift of a Savior.
