i dont feel quite the cheer

i dont feel quite the cheer:
with christmas this year:

i did'nt put up a tree:
i did'nt feel all the glee:

money now is so tight:
i can barely pay all the lights:

all my money is all spent:
theres no christmas gifts to be sent:

for my children i feel bad:
that this christmas will be sad:'

theres no gifts under a tree:
and that hurts me you see:

im hinking now of next year when christmas is here:

ill be reasdy then you see:
with presents for the kids under the tree:

but this year wont feel right:
with no lights shining bright:

somehow we'll do the best that we can:
i hope the kids all understand:

we'll all go to midnight mass:
and let this christmas day slowly pass:

somehow we will all remember this year when we think of christmas cheer-remembering what means the most:
its holding your family loving and close:

so at least i'll write to everyone i know:
and a christmas cheer to them i will show:

i'll do the best i can at home:'
and thank god at christmas i;m not alone:

we will all do the best we can this year:
to spread the christmas cheer:
