Inescapable Eyes
Where can I go to get away,
A place for me to hide and stay;
And get away from the Spirit,
In getting some peace and quiet.
I must find somewhere I can go,
A place where no one else will know;
Especially God from His sight,
Someplace where just I can delight.
If up to Heaven He is there,
Having His ever loving care;
If I would make my bed in hell,
He would protect me in a shell.
If I climbed up onto the sun,
He ensures cooling had begun;
If I go to a distant shore,
He would guide me as I explore.
Let darkness hide me from His sight,
As the daylight turns into night;
Not even the darkness is too dark,
For God to see where I embark.
For night is as bright as the day,
Always knows when I disobey;
Since darkness and light are the same,
I will never be hiding shame.
