STORY OF LOVE
A friend of mine once told me that she prayed every day
For me to find a love to hold and keep loneliness at bay
She spoke about a man she felt was almost like her son
And how he longed, as I did, for that very special one
His words of rhyme were spiritual, filled with sentiment
Yet lived a life unhappily, not receiving what was meant
And my life was a lonely place, though full of activity
An empty heart forever is what I thought would always be
But over many lonesome months we danced around each other
Even though she tried and tried to help us to discover
That we had more in common than either of us thought
Quiet nights in sighs and tears were all we ever wrought
By his very own admission, he thought I was arrogant
From a message I had posted; to my site he never went
I'll admit to my own thoughts that he was "holier-than-thou"
I felt my friend was mistaken in her matchmaking somehow
Then one day he wrote a piece dedicated to all mothers
A heartfelt write that stood head and shoulders above the others
So I wrote to him a word of thanks and much to my surprise
He wrote a piece and posted how he saw me through his eyes
And so began our story; throughout the months it has grown
Into a beautiful love affair that through our friend was sown
Through daily conversations, a long visit, and through writes
Our love has blossomed strong and fair; the future's in our sights
Because of a special loving friend who saw the best in us
Encouraging that we each reach out and in God place our trust
Today we have a loving bond that both of us nearly missed;
Heartfelt thanks we send up to God and our lovely friend Doris
We love you Doris and will forever be grateful to you......
Forever your friends, Kathryn and Edwin
