LEAVING THE PAST BEHINDAll the tears I shed for you have dried For time does not stand still and moves on I have accepted God needed you in heaven In your pain a much better place to be My times of need an Angel watches over me The day you died all day I cried My love for you could never be denied My dear Lord needed you more by his side Heaven's gates opened and accepted you Some day my turn and will be accepted too There is still work down here for me to do But you know I well see you once again Live life clean and avoid mortal sin Others who have lost loved ones it is hard to do Leaving the past behind as I learned and grew So today once more leaving the past behind Yet in times like this you are on my mind So I pause and look up for the angel sign That you have moved on left the past behind Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem
