Christ is the Gate
Heed to what I truly say,
So you do not go astray;
For I know you cannot wait,
That day to go through the gate.
But someone does not embark,
Through the gate when it is dark;
For somewhere there is a thief,
At night to steal your belief.
For the thief is climbing in,
Because he is full of sin;
And cannot enter the door,
The Shepherd watches for sure.
But the Shepherd will come through,
Since He watches over you;
Ensuring there will be no harm,
From a thief who tries to charm.
So He will come through the gate,
And concerned about the fate;
And calling each one by name,
Before the thief tries to shame.
For the sheep knowing the voice,
Of the Shepherd and rejoice;
As they follow Him away,
So they do not go astray.
