The Lancean Specificity

The Time of My Life

for Vikkie Essex

I am taking my time as time will allow
In the canyon of time where the river runs through it
Here between the mountains of the future and the past
To be and to do by the river of the now
With my own way to do it with maybe something to it

Maybe so or maybe then again maybe not
But being and seeing what to do I do it
To leave the river better for my being than it was
Or maybe not and being I would be no matter what
But because I am what is I might as well do what does
Where the moment is the meaning within the in betweening

Having learned how now is not the time to hesitate
Not the time to hurry nor to wait not too late
Nor too early but the paradigm of being right on time
In the turning of the river I return to the sea
Of always now or never where it turns into forever
Turning there from what I know into what I believe can be

The river flows past me not too slow and not too fast
As always a new river as always a new me
Here between the mountains of the future and the past
And now is the right time for me to be because
How can it be wrong when it is always when
It is at the right time at either now or never?

What is and does what was and will be my reality
In the moment in between which is all I have for now
Whenever it is then being now and then again
Right now at the right time at the time it always was
Through the day time and the night time as the only gate
Of time at when it always will be as both what and how

It is always now and then again now and again
In the canyon of time where the river runs through it
Before and after past me not too slow and not too fast
With my own way to do it with maybe something to it
Here between the mountains of the future and the past
Where in the in betweening the moment is the meaning

I am taking my time as time will allow
Where time has taken me where life has brought me
When all else has forsaken me but what love has taught me
Knowing I know nothing but believing love knows how
As love has shown me why if not to do at least to try

And though I go I know somehow that I will always be
At the time of my life by the river of the now
